Smile Through It is built around the marks pressure leaves behind—and the decision to keep moving anyway. Layers of black, white, red, and yellow collide across the piece, surrounding messages of pain, survival, pressure, and resilience. The repeated smile imagery ties it all together: sometimes the smile doesn’t mean everything is good. Sometimes it means you made it through.
Individually altered by hand from front to back, this piece combines layered surface treatments, dimensional graphic elements, custom detailing, and intentional distressing to create a finish that cannot be duplicated exactly.
